At the beginning of 2020, I start my vegan journey, and I’m quite happy about it. I’m feeling much better, I have more energy and my digestion has change a lot ! If you want to know more about why I become vegan, go and check out my blog post.

But, for few weeks now, my diet has change, and I don’t want to lie about it. The change has been made progressively. As I told before, I was 95% vegan, but I was still eating eggs. Sometimes, at dinner parties or family events, I didn’t want to be a burden, so I’d eat whatever there was on the plate.

Some of you would say

« do what you want, you’re not a burden, people have to respect everyone choices »

and you’re right. But I don’t want to hamper anyone. So I ate vegan or whatever I want when I’m in charge of the meal, but just follow the group when I’m invited somewhere.

But for the past few weeks, I started eating cheese again. And this made everything so much easier. I’m still not eating any meat, but I sometime eat some fish or shellfish when I’m not in charge of the meal. It’s so much easier to tell anyone that you don’t eat meat but you still eat fish or shellfish. I know that I shouldn’t take others into account, but with some of my family members, it’s quite difficult (older generation).

On the other hand, I won’t eat some dairy products except cheese. I don’t want to drink or eat cow milk, nor cream nor yogurts. I am not willing to drink or eat dairy product (except cheese) for a long time now. I much prefer vegan yogurts, soy cream and almond/soy/hazelnut milk.

For the health side of the diet change, I didn’t see many changes between veganism and vegetarianism. My digestion is still good, I have the same amount of energy has two months ago, my sleep is good. On the other hand, I was afraid of the healthiness of my skin. Eating cheese is known for skin issues. But mine is quite good. I don’t put any makeup, I hydrate mornings and nights, I clean it everyday. And nothing. Not a pimple. Obviously, except when I’m around my periods, but otherwise nothing.

Actually, I’m quite happy about it. I grew up with a difficult skin situation. I’m relieved that at almost 27 I’m at peace with my skin issues.

So for now on, I’ll eat mostly vegetarian, with sometimes fish whose fishing is sustainable. I’m still going to share some vegan recipes for most of the time, but don’t be shocked to see some cheese in some of them.

Let me now in the comments what king of vegan and vegetarian recipes you want to see. And while waiting for those to come, you can check out the upload ones here.
